CommuniCare Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing health care to those in need since 1972. CommuniCare offers comprehensive primary medical and dental services, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health services, health education and enabling services to the culturally diverse, low-income, uninsured and underinsured residents of Yolo County through five community clinic sites and outreach programs. Last year, CommuniCare provided 88,684 visits to 20,907 patients - approximately one in every ten residents of Yolo County - and an additional 35,932 encounters for health education and outreach in the community.
CommuniCare is a non-smoking employer.

$5 million federal grant award will help fund construction of CommuniCare's new health center in Woodland HRSA Administrator Dr. Mary Wakefield announced on May 2, 2012 the awarding of $5 million in federal Affordable Care Act funding to CommuniCare Health Centers for construction of a new health center in Woodland. Joining Dr. Wakefield in speaking at Davis Community Clinic were Congressman John Garamendi (10th District-CA), CommuniCare Health Centers CEO Robin Affrime, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region IX Director Herb Schultz, President and CEO of the California Primary Care Association Carmela Castellano-Garcia, CommuniCare midwife Christi Stone, and CommuniCare Board member Glenn Campanelli.
