Steps Toward Active Recovery (STAR) Program

STAR is a home-based substance abuse counseling program for families and individuals. The STAR program provides counseling and case management services to help clients overcome barriers. This program serves clients who may be resistant to entering treatment, clients who may have fallen out of care, clients who have significant barriers to attending treatment, and clients who may be incarcerated or in between treatment programs.

Services include assessments, counseling, and referrals for substance abuse treatment or linkage to other support services such as housing, transportation, childcare and medical care. Services are provided throughout Yolo County. Food and non-food items are provided twice monthly to program participants.

Fees: Any low income woman residing in Yolo County who has children under 18 (even if those children are not in her custody) can receive treatment at no cost. Other funding sources include: Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, Proposition 36, and Child Protective Services.
