Volunteers and Interns

CommuniCare Health Centers welcomes and values the contributions of volunteer health providers, student interns, translators, patient assistants and lay volunteers to provide services in our clinics and programs. We value the importance of a teaching and learning environment at all levels of the organization.

Health Care Professionals, Graduate Student Interns

Licensed physicians, dentists, other health care professionals interested in volunteering should contact CommuniCare’s Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@communicarehc.org. A current Resume/CV must be on file with CommuniCare’s Volunteer Coordinator. Resumes/CVs may be e-mailed or hard copies mailed to:

Lay Volunteers and Undergraduates Students

Availability of volunteer positions is changeable. For information on current openings, contact CommuniCare’s Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@communicarehc.org.

Basic Requirements for all Volunteers
All Volunteers are required to have a completed Volunteer Application Form on file. Volunteer applicants will also need to show proof of the following before beginning work:

  • Current TB test (less than a year old)
  • MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) immunizations
  • Current influenza vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunization(s) if volunteering for a position in the laboratory or dental area
